The most innovative and performance oriented electric race car Nissan Leaf NISMO RC will step on the track of Clipsal 500 Adelaide, South Australia this weekend. This is one of the most innovative and technologically advance racing cars that run on an all electric power supply with zero emission. Under the hood of this racing machine Nissan fixed an electric motor with revolutionary lithium-ion battery pack and of course there is no tailpipe, no fuel tank and very low noise. The car has a coup like appearance especially for the Clipsal 500 event at Adelaide. Since its debut in 2011 at New York Auto Show, the car made only select appearance at La Mans in France, GoddWood in the United Kingdom and now finally at Clipsal 500. On Saturday and Sunday, Nissan will showcase its all electric racing machine Leaf NISMO RC Coup together with Nissan Altima V8Supercar and a Nissan GTR road car for the fans of Clipsal 500 in the “Nissan Time Attack” at the Adelaide Parklands street circuit.
Nissan’s Leaf NISMO RC is the world’s first full electric car and it has three piece body manufactured from Carbon fiber to increase rigidity and reduce weight. The “Nissan Time Attack” will be the strongest supporter of the opening event of the 2014 V8 supercars Championship where its Motorsports four-car Altima team will fight against its rivals. The honor of the driving of Leaf NISMO RC will get Rick Kelly. Driver Rick Kelley commented about the driving of the world’s first electric racing car “It’s a crazy time at the moment, having come from Bathurst in the GT-R, then testing our Altima V8 Supercar, and now I’m going to get the chance to drive one of Nissan’s game changers. I think the Adelaide fans will be blown away by its speed and I’m really excited to get behind the wheel of it at the Clipsal 500.”
