London’s recent GPS-linked speed limiters have put a measure to the speed limit of all vehicles including the ongoing Big Brother trial that is supposed to check in with higher speeds. This news was initially released by AutoWeek magazine. So with the resultant effort the speed got controlled through computerized methods rather than manual control.
The trial run in London is run by Transport for London, annually. The whole agency manages the traffic routes across the busy city during the weeks of trial. This agency is also using its very own fleet of buses and lines of taxis for the test this year.
This new rule on London’s road is about to test accident rates on the roads. So the determination whether accident rate can be controlled through technology comes as a question too! The new black box system introduced on roads of London combine GPS location data as well as a speed database that checks in for speed limits.
