After the death of retired NASA accountant, Bob Keopke, last November. Dave Koepke, his son, decided to open up his father’s house to find that his father had been collecting hot rod cars for the past 40 years. The cars and wares are already put into online bidding while some wares will be open for an in-house auction this April 11th.
Among the items to be put into auction are the following:
- Chevy Nomad wagons, coupes, and convertibles
- 18 Depression-era Fords
- A 1958 Porsche 356
- A 1978 Ferrari 308
- Chevy Tri-fives
- Mid 30s Ford coupes
- A 1973 DeTomasco Pantera
- And car wares such as carburetors, starters, intakes, and other various parts.
While some people might find old and vintage cars as garbage, Yvette VanDderBrink says otherwise, “Not garbage, just parts”. And this proves to be true, because as of today the online auction has bids going as high as 30 thousand dollars and the auction has not officially started yet.
Despite this somewhat chaotic scene, surprisingly enough as an accountant, Bob kept all the cars, parts, and other wares neatly labeled and stored that auctioneer Yvette VanDerBrink had no trouble making the sale for the auctions much easier.
Even when he had decided to agree on having his father’s long time hobby auctioned, Dave had kept a piece of it as a keepsake from his father. These are the ’35 Ford Roadster and a Model A which he and his father had worked on and with which he plans to continue with his own children.
