The Europe’s largest magazine, AutoBild has named the 2016 Tiguan “All-wheel Car of the Year” in “Off-road vehicle and SUV up to 30,000 Euro” category. The Tiguan was first revealed in 2007 and have been able to win the hearts of millions of mid-range SUV fans. It is evident from the fact that Volkswagen has sold over 2.8 million units since its launch and this is the fifth time it has won desirable title of “All-wheel Car of the Year”.
With the new Tiguan, the automaker is looking to escalate it sales figure introducing new design and enhanced features. The exterior now has a more mature look giving the SUV a bold persona. The interior space has also been extended to provide better legroom.
The ergonomically designed interior makes driving easier, while panoramic glass roof throws plenty of lighting inside for passengers to feel light and comfortable. Another addition inside is the improved infotainment system to keep the passengers entertained throughout their journey.
The 2016 Tiguan comes with a wide range of engine options to satisfy the needs of power-hungry motorists. The power ratings of eight engines vary between 115 PS/85 kW and 240 PS/176 kW. They are now more powerful and affordable than their ancestors. Most of the variants come equipped with 4Motion all-wheel drive to render a smooth and dependable drive.
The new Tiguan is not only more powerful, but it’s safer too, offering Front Assist with City Emergency Braking and an integrated Pedestrian Monitoring; Lane Assist, a practical passenger protection; and an active bonnet to guard pedestrians and cyclists. The optional features include ergoActive seats, a lowered load sill and an “Easy Open and Close” system for convenient loading and unloading.
The new Tiguan is available in a range of 5 trims with the base version Tiguan S starting at £22,510, while the range-topping new Tiguan R-line starts at £31,925.
