Off-road trucking has become a highly popular sport. The main reason is the superb hillsides and thrilling adventure which is drawing the new motor craze. Unfortunately, if the weather is inclement or dull, visibility can be an issue. This is where HID kits come into play. Off-road HID kits are a huge market at the moment and if you haven’t already bought a set of high intensity discharge lamps for you off-road truck, you really need to.
Not only do they look cool, they are much more safe than regular bulbs. The brighter, high intensity and low power usage helps them supersede the older halogen bulbs which are power sappers and dull. Being off-road means it can be dangerous, even if you aren’t driving fast, you might miss a ditch or boulder which could damage you vehicle. Having HID kits installed is far safer and can help you navigate the difficult routes which might be overgrown and this is where having ‘daylight’ bulbs show you the way.

As HID headlight kits are very durable, they outlast halogen bulbs four times over, they can be used for a very long time before you need to replace them. Getting the right kit for your off-road vehicle is fairly easy and fitment is easier again. The harness is attached, the bulbs are placed and the ballasts are mounted under the hood. Once they are installed, fire up the truck and switch on the lights. There is nothing better than seeing the slight delay whilst the lamps heat up and wham, the lights glow an amazingly pure white or blueish white depending on which bulb heat you have bought. The bulb color is specified by the gas temperature measured in Kelvins. If you choose a 5000K bulb it will be white or if you go for a 10000K bulb it will be blue or even purple.
