Ever since Nissan came into being it has been an innovative force to be reckoned with in the automotive world. Its first little compact cars and trucks hit North America in the early sixties then it brought over the 240Z and then the Maxima and the Pathfinder and the Infiniti. There were plenty of other top sellers and popular vehicles from Nissan but we just wanted to mention a few.
A couple of years ago Nissan introduced the Juke. It’s a mini SUV that has surpassed all sales expectations of the manufacturer. When it first came out in Japan, for instance, Nissan expected to sell just under 1,500 of them the first month. Not bad for a first release. However, the Juke had over 10,000 orders for this great little sports utility vehicle that first month and sales continue to go through the roof. It’s not surprising when you take a close look at one of these fascinating cars.
The Juke comes with a four-cylinder, 1.6 Liter engine that powers its front-wheel drive. That seemingly tiny engine puts out a whopping 188 horsepower and gets 32 miles per gallon on highways and 27 mpg in town. Just these numbers alone are impressive. Add responsiveness, quick acceleration and great handling and then you know why they disappear from dealers’ showrooms so fast. Read more online in a full review at www.teamnissannorth.com .
When you first look at the Juke you’ll do a double take; every one does it. The styling is not only unique, it’s futuristic and quite beautiful. This exquisitely sculpted piece of metal reflects the thinking of Nissan itself. They need a new motto: “We build for the Future.” The juke is one of those amazing vehicles that could be in a science fiction movie that’s set in the year 2113. It’s just got that look and the feel of what may lie ahead as far as automotive engineering goes. It’s small, it’s curved in the right places and it’s quick; quick enough to travel to the future and back in a heartbeat.
