Well there is some good news finally from the automotive industry, and more specifically the Chrysler Group in Detroit. They have announced that they expect to increase the production of their new 2013 Ram truck models by 32 percent. Increasing the production total from a year ago by 80 thousand trucks. This is a great sign that the automotive industry in North America is beginning to regain its confidence, and that the consumers are beginning to buy again.
In 2012 Chrysler manufactured just about 227,000 Ram truck models which they would sell nationwide from their Warren plant. They intend to bump that total up to 300,000, because they anticipate that the new Ram which received truck of the year accolades at the recent Detroit Auto Show, and the the incredible advertisement and commercial spots over the past 4-6 months have provided a lot of interest by consumers. Another facet which helps the automotive industry is the Detroit Bureau stated there were some great improvements in the housing industry over the past year, signs of a possible brighter future for North America.
It is only ideal to imagine there is a direct correlation between those who build homes and the sales of pickup trucks, because realistically most of them drive pickup trucks because they need the tow and haul capabilities. Also the entire truck segment has a new freshs start with the all new Ram, new Ford F-Series, Chevy Silverado and Sierra. Then a newly restyled Tundra from Toyota. The truck with the greatest improvements though and that is appreciated with the North American Truck of the Year Award. This is due in part to the Ram being the only truck on the market with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This special feature and the award will likely give sales a great push for the 2013 year, and even years to come.
Chrysler didn’t give an exact time table on when they plan to make these improved totals in production, but they did clarify that with the manufacturing being done in Mexico that the total will be nearly 400 thousand Ram trucks for 2013. When compared to sales totals by other truck models: Ford sold a total of 645 thousand F-Series pickups, General Motors sold 575 thousand Silverados and Sierras combined. The Tundra had the most sales last year with only 101 thousand.
The 2013 Ram truck has come a long way, it is newly designed, with new engines and the eight-speed transmission is the trump card. To learn more about the new Ram and what it offers you can visit your local dealer or simply read from the Research Center at www.arrigopalmbeach.com.
