Car makers around the world are constantly researching and developing better ideas that can allow them to reduce their carbon footprint and make it convenient for the consumers to drive their vehicles without impacting the environment. Honda has remained in the lead with the new efforts and technologies that they have invented to make things simpler and better for car buyers. Honda has now made an announcement that they have teamed up with TDK Corporation and Japan Metals and Chemicals Co better known as JMC to reuse rare earth metal extracted from nickel metal hydride batteries in hybrid vehicles for magnets of new hybrid vehicles.
Sharing more information on this Honda said that they have always come up with better strategies to make this world a better place. The automaker has already started supplying rare earth metals extracted from used nickel metal hydride batteries at the JMC plant for reuse in the new hybrid car batteries. The Japanese car maker said that this will help them to make more usage of recycled materials in their hybrid cars and save precious resources. The usage of the rare earth metals will also allow Honda to reduce the cost of production for hybrid vehicles and they can bring down the price range of hybrid vehicles in the future.
So far the three companies have decided to discuss on how they will initiate the process and how the metals will be reuse in the new nickel metal hydride batteries. The automaker claims that they will gradually increase the production capacity to introduce more recycled products.
