Supercars have always been in demand, but automakers are now aiming for hybrid supercars that perform without compromising the fuel efficiency factor. Now, Toyota and BMW has decided to team up together to come up with their own new hybrid supercar under a joint venture which can beat the likes of Lexus LF-A. Apart from the joint collaboration on the new hybrid supercar, both automakers will also develop a new mid-engined sports car that will be as good as Porsche 911.

Silk Road 2

The joint venture is called Silk Road 2 and the automakers believe that they will come up with their new cars by late 2018 or early 2019 which will be a two seater vehicle that will be designed for passionate car drivers. Both the cars will be developed at BMW’s headquarters in Munich and will have 3.0 liter inline six cylinder engines that can produce around 400 to 500 horsepower. The focus will also be on how they can come up with lighter models that offer better fuel economy and that remains well under the budget.
