It’s not every day when we see an incredible project designed by a student or students. When it comes to auto engineering, that phenomenon is probably even rarer. Regardless of how rare it is, this is what a handful of students achieved at the Transportation Design School at the Istituto Europeo di Design.

The concept car they dreamed up debuted at the Geneva Motor Show a couple days ago. It was a hybrid car simply dubbed “IED Syrma Concept”, and it seems to be an incredible piece of design. The hybrid system can be found at the rear end of the car, and it incorporates an incredible twin-turbo, gas powered engine paired up with an electrical.

The car is capable of an enormous output of 900 horsepower. Amazingly, it involves a three-person seating with the driver’s position being placed perfectly (central seating) for the best visibility possible. In addition to that, the car has another impressive safety feature, its laser message projection system for the car’s silent, electric mode. The windscreen shape – which will be reminiscent of a “teardrop” -, will further add to the safety of the car, as it will offer better protection.
