Great cars do not only need speed that can take them faster, but they also need better aerodynamics that can keep them firmly planted on the road. Chevrolet is really proud to showcase their new Camaro ZL1 that combined the latest technology and performance. The car has the ability to produce 580 horsepower and can reach the top speed of 170 mph or 273 kmph. However, to keep the car under control at such top speeds Chevrolet came up with better aerodynamics that can help the car to stay in control and maintain stability to generate more downforce.

Al Oppenheiser, Chief Engineer for Camaro ZL1 said that the car has already lapped the Nurburgring race track in just 7:41:27 seconds which is hard to achieve is improved aerodynamics is not incorporated in the car. He said that the new design of the car will create downforce on the car and create more air pressure to keep the tires pressed to the race track or road which helps the driver to get extra grip and control at really high speeds. He also mentioned that there are speed slips available in the car that improves the fuel efficiency of the car.

Camaro ZL1 is the fastest Camaro in the market and that is only because the aerodynamics team worked hard on keeping the car close to the ground and generating more downforce. The car has been tested many times on various race tracks around the globe to ensure that the car clears all safety standards.

Getting a Chevrolet is not only a dream for elders who can have the money to buy and drive real Chevrolet Camaro but also for kids who are too young for it. However, Chevrolet and Hot Wheels are now joining hands together to make this dream possible for kids who love to have their own Chevrolet Camaro. Kids love to play with Hot Wheels cars and therefore Hot Wheels have decided that they will come up with the Hot Wheels Camaro Concept which debuted at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Hot Wheels is inspired by the Custom Camaro that was available at the show and therefore they have decided to come up with Hot Wheels Camaro Concept toy model. This project will be a collaborative team work between General Motors Design studio in Michigan and Hot Wheels Design studio in California. Each studio will first make a sketch of their Custom Camaro and then they will exchange their sketches and ideas and visions until they reach a common goal of making the best Custom Camaro toy model.

Phil Zak, GM Design Director said that Camaro has always remained one of the best toy models in Hot Wheels list since 1968 and many generations have grown up playing the same toy models and later grown up to drive the same car for real. However, it’s time that they make some changes to the new Chevrolet Camaro and make it more exciting for the next generation and for the studios as well.

Most car makers are now moving towards electric vehicle technology because they believe that in the future consumers will be looking for more environmental friendly cars that can save the planet as well as their money. Cadillac is always known for the kind of luxurious cars that they come up with. However, Cadillac is now making a move in the electric vehicle technology as well. The innovative Cadillac Coverj Concept is now going one step ahead as production car and will be called as Cadillac ELR. The development of Cadillac ELR is on the way and therefore details on performance and price will be announced later.

The Cadillac ELR will be a major change in the production line and will feature electric propulsion which will be made of a T shaped lithium ion battery. The car will also have an electric drive unit and four cylinder engine generator. This electric generator will use the electricity to drive the car without any gasoline or tailpipe emission. When the battery is low the ELR will switch to extended range mode which will enable the driver to drive another hundred miles.

Don Butler, Vice President of Cadillac Marketing said that the concept of the car is very new and therefore the company is very happy about it. He said that this car would be another milestone compare to other Cadillac models and the ELR will offer something different to the buyers. He also stated that the combination of electric propulsion along with striking luxurious design will make this car a sensation in the market. Ed Welburn, General Manager and Vice President of Global Design said that the Converj Concept will definitely turn eyeballs and is a perfect combination of grand touring coupe with electrification. He also stated that the car will have aggressive, forward leaning profile which will definitely impress people looking for 2+2 luxury coupes.

General Motors China and its joint ventures together celebrated the success as they were able to sell 196, 990 units in this annual year which means that their annual sales figures went up by 11.2% for the month of November. General Motors China and its joint ventures have been working diligently on their sales figures but so far they were not able to achieve this success. However, this year General Motors figures went up by 32.7% for this annual year and they were able to sell 2,172, 395 units. General Motors also became the first automobile company in China to reach the 2 million mark in a single year.

In Shanghai the sales figure of General Motors was up by 33.4% for the year and they were able to sell 105,097 units in the month of November. Hence, the domestic sale of General Motors totaled 58,977 units which mean that the figures went up by 47% from November 2009. The biggest factor for this great achievement goes to Chevrolet Cruze and New Sail cars that have been very popular in China. Both Cruze and New Sail have created all time high record in China. The monthly sales figure of Chevrolet Cruze went up by a whopping 71% in just one year which means that General Motors were able to sell 23, 843 units in just one single year. On the other hand, New Sail has become the favorite family car in China and GM was able to sell around 15,056 units in one single year.

Apart from lower medium sedans, Buick also became increasingly popular in China. However, Cadillac still remains to be the best car in China as people love all three popular models.

The General Motors has designed latest equipment to bring to a standstill the car if accelerated not deliberately, tested them on 2 Pontiac Vibe small SUVs, and their trial become thriving when the vehicle’s pace goes at 60 miles/hr and it stopped the Pontiac in less than 169 meters. Which is the dependable brake act based on the systems prerequisite.

If you stuck with the throttle, which happens rarely than the brakes should be pushed lightly and slowly until it stand still. If you force the brakes quickly, it will take out the entire space boost from the brakes. It will help the most when the pedals got trapped or the floor matt interrupts with your feet. So the new brake system ‘Vibes’ was planned and engineered by Toyota Motors and produced in August 2009 at New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc.

The spare parts soon will be available in the market throughout the Toyota dealers in the world, to help them fixed when a customer comes for its repairing. So far, it has already helped a lot of people and none of them reported with injuries or accidents.

The official spokeswoman Gunilla Gustavs confirmed the news that circulated in the market about General Motors closing down manufacturing of Swedish car brand Saab from December 18.

She further said General Motors is welcoming offers from prospecting buyers still they are in no hurry to close the deal immediately. They can wait till something real matures.

Independent information confirmed that the automaker is refusing to comment on any deadline fixed for proposals. The possibility seems obvious that the date is, reportedly extended to January 7.

The various proposals in the pipeline include, selling Saab to an exotic car Dutch manufacturer Spyker Cars. The other serious sale proposal for the brand under discussion was pointing to a consortium in lead of Swedish sports car manufacturer Koenigsegg Automotive.

This does not seem to workout as no progress is visible.
Saab unit employed about 3500 workers worldwide with dealerships exceeding 1000.

The main plant is in Trollhattan, Sweden.

The above sale is part of the General Motor’s restructuring plan. They intend to cut down all unprofitable business. They are also closing down the production lines of Pontiac, Hammer, and Saturn cars.
General Motors will now be maintaining their most popular FOUR brand cars ————- Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick.

If there’s one thing GM is selling, it’s Corvettes. Even with the recent major restructuring as a result of the recent bankruptcy, Corvettes are still a hot item, and GM knows it. Many speculated that bankruptcy would mean the ‘Vette would go the way of the Sky or other marques that GM has done away with in recent years – not so, according to CEO Henderson on June 5th, after the filing. It is still profitable and will remain “the V8 engineering rear wheel drive icon we all love,” according to a question asked by a participant during the live chat session. According to Henderson, the brand will continue as part of a slimmed down, leaner and meaner GM. And recent word on the street has it that GM won’t be doing away with the company’s racing programs, including Corvette Racing – another bright spot on what otherwise might be a bleak horizon for GM’s near future.

For sportscar enthusiasts, this is happy news – the loss of a brand that has always been an icon of American sportscars would leave huge shoes that would not be easily filled. When brushing up on accounts of Corvette history, it’s amazing to see how many major engineering achievements have been developed by GM for Corvette over the years. From the Stingray to the dominance of the 1984 Corvette in showroom stock racing, many advancements have been either pioneered or made widespread by GM on the Corvette. The day the car world lost that type of R&D would be a sad one indeed.

Likewise, the loss of Corvette would mean the loss of a brand that has historically made supercar performance available to more than just the very rich. With the heralded release of the 2009 ZR1, supercar style and performance became available for a slightly over $100K price tag. The supercharged LS9 engine boasts over 400hp, and from its Corvette ZR1 wheels to its aggressive styling, nobody can deny that it competes with cars in much higher price brackets.

And finally, there’s the issue of performance. The wide aftermarket support for Corvette parts means that anyone can pick up a used Corvette and have an affordable, competitive track or street car. Were GM to discontinue this brand, they’d not only lose sales of a popular car, they’d disappoint many who have grown up owning and loving these cars. In Henderson’s remarks, we find the silver lining to the cloud of GM’s bad news.

The sale of the Chrysler to Fiat has been hindered by the Supreme Court stay. Earlier three Indiana state pension funds had filed a lawsuit in New York because they got 45$ million holding in Chrysler’s secured loans. This case went in the favor of Chrysler and they lost it in the high court.

Following this they have filed another lawsuit in the Supreme Court asking for holding the sales of Chrysler to Fiat.

Based on the lawsuit filed, the Supreme Court jury Ruth Bader Ginsburg has given a decision that the sale would be temporarily delayed until further order is issued. The Chryslers lawyers fear that this stay would affect the deal with Fiat that is scheduled to go under in a few days.

Thus its been tough times for Chryslers and the lawyers are trying hard to break this stay and complete the deal successfully

We know GM is struggling these days and making their utmost efforts to recover from this so-called financial gloom.

It’s leaving no stone unturned to give a better fight off its foreign competitors and the efforts to re size and re purpose the 2010 Cadillac SRX is enough to tell every story about that.

You need not to reckon it a confused auto transport wagon any more, as it’s going to be replaced with a nice looking and pure crossover. It is leaner this time with a fitted and distinctive engine lineup that is being considered the first ever turbo of a Cadillac in North America. Most of GM’s critics are reckoning the model as a true competitor for luxury crossover brand leader Lexus.

Now you will soon see it flying with edgy lines, smooth sheetmatel, eye-catching headlights and in-your-face grille, this new Cadillac will be loaded with lots of rakish looks.

The basic of this resizing and repurposing is quite simple, as to allure more and more well-off consumers that all like to value practical functionality and image.

Steve Shannon, who is GM’s executive director for premium brands, says in this connection: “in this every moment changing marketplace, you long for putting the chits down on more of a winning hand.”

Though Cadillac is still a wagon, it has been based on the CTS and really gets some dashing looks with its aggressive looks and low stance, simply it is a luxury car with some additional functionality.
