Al Oppenheiser, Chief Engineer for Camaro ZL1 said that the car has already lapped the Nurburgring race track in just 7:41:27 seconds which is hard to achieve is improved aerodynamics is not incorporated in the car. He said that the new design of the car will create downforce on the car and create more air pressure to keep the tires pressed to the race track or road which helps the driver to get extra grip and control at really high speeds. Hot Wheels is inspired by the Custom Camaro that was available at the show and therefore they have decided to come up with Hot Wheels Camaro Concept toy model. This project will be a collaborative team work between General Motors Design studio in Michigan and Hot Wheels Design studio in California. Each studio will first make a sketch of their Custom Camaro and then they will exchange their sketches and ideas and visions until they reach a common goal of making the best Custom Camaro toy model.

Phil Zak,  GM Design Director said that Camaro has always remained one of the best toy models in Hot Wheels list since 1968 and many generations have grown up playing the same toy models and later grown up to drive the same car for real. However, it’s time that they make some changes to the new Chevrolet Camaro and make it more exciting for the next generation and for the studios as well.

The Cadillac ELR will be a major change in the production line and will feature electric propulsion which will be made of a T shaped lithium ion battery. The car will also have an electric drive unit and four cylinder engine generator. This electric generator will use the electricity to drive the car without any gasoline or tailpipe emission. When the battery is low the ELR will switch to extended range mode which will enable the driver to drive another hundred miles.

He also stated that the car will have aggressive, forward leaning profile which will definitely impress people looking for 2+2 luxury coupes.

Cadillac is certainly one of the best car manufacturers in the United States and they have been in the racing world as well. Cadillac today announced that they will soon return to the racing with their new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe which will compete in the Sports Club of America World Challenge. The challenge is certainly among North America’s top production based racecar series. Don Butler, Vice President Cadillac Marketing said that their return to the Sports Club of America World Challenge is a great way to demonstrate the power and capability of their new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and they are glad that they will return to the racecar series.

Cadillac has competed in the series from 2004 to 2007 in their GT Class with CTS-V Sports Sedan. They won the Manufacturer’s Championship in 2005 and 2007 and consecutively they also won the Driver’s Championship in 2005. Cadillac is currently working with Pratt and Miller, a New Hudson engineering firm that specializes in motorsports. Cadillac and Pratt and Miller will together work on the development of Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. In Shanghai the sales figure of General Motors was up by 33.4% for the year and they were able to sell 105,097 units in the month of November. Hence, the domestic sale of General Motors totaled 58,977 units which mean that the figures went up by 47% from November 2009. From the Stingray to the dominance of the 1984 Corvette in showroom stock racing, many advancements have been either pioneered or made widespread by GM on the Corvette. Likewise, the loss of Corvette would mean the loss of a brand that has historically made supercar performance available to more than just the very rich. With the heralded release of the 2009 ZR1, supercar style and performance became available for a slightly over $100K price tag. The supercharged LS9 engine boasts over 400hp, and from its Corvette ZR1 wheels to its aggressive styling, nobody can deny that it competes with cars in much higher price brackets.

And finally, there’s the issue of performance. The wide aftermarket support for Corvette parts means that anyone can pick up a used Corvette and have an affordable, competitive track or street car. Following this they have filed another lawsuit in the Supreme Court asking for holding the sales of Chrysler to Fiat.

Based on the lawsuit filed, the Supreme Court jury Ruth Bader Ginsburg has given a decision that the sale would be temporarily delayed until further order is issued. The Chryslers lawyers fear that this stay would affect the deal with Fiat that is scheduled to go under in a few days.

Thus its been tough times for Chryslers and the lawyers are trying hard to break this stay and complete the deal successfully
