The Audi A3 Sportback g-tron is all set to hit the roads from February 13. The price of the car will be 25,900 euros. The customers of the Audi will have an option of using the e-gas fuel card to power their A3 g-tron ensuring the environment remains safe.
CO2-Neutal mobility – The Audi A3 G-tron contains 1.4-liter TSFI engine developing 81 kW (110hp), can be operated by natural gas or e-gas generated by Audi or gasoline. The e-gas mode is completely CO-2 neutral.
Environment friendly gas- The world’s first industrial power to gas plant in Werite in Lower Saxony, Germany is producing the Audi e-gas which is a kind of synthetic methane. This is said to be the most environment friendly form of gas for long distance mobility. The reason is that the Audi e-gas makes use of the green electricity which binds exactly the same amount of CO-2 as is released when the Audi g-tron in driven in gas mode. At present the average consumption of gas is between 3.2 to 3.3kg per 100km. while the fuel cost has been estimated to be 3.5 euros per 100km.
The Audi e-gas Fuel Card – The customers who will choose the e-gas option can also get the e-gas fuel card for the flat price of 14.95 euros per month. There is an advantage of the card as the quantities of the gas refueled would be deducted via the Audi e-gas fuel card. There are more than 650 fuel stations in Germany that are offering the e-card service for the purchase of Audi e-gas.
In the words of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG says, “… Audi e-gas project is an important pillar of our sustainability strategy…” They are now working for the development of the other synthetic fuels like e-ethanol and e-diesel.
